🖼️ Discover the Heart of the West in Our Permanent Collection
Our Permanent Collection is where Utah history meets artistic excellence. We collect, preserve, and showcase works that reflect the rich cultural landscape of the West – from traditional landscapes and portraits to bold modern pieces. Visitors can explore exhibitions from a variety of time periods and cultures, making every visit a chance to see something new and meaningful.
🙋♀️ Join the Team – Become a Volunteer or Docent!
Want to give back and get a front-row seat to all the art magic? Volunteers and docents play a huge role in making the museum a success. We especially need folks to guide our 4th and 5th grade tours during the school year. If you’re passionate about art and community, we’d love to have you on board!
🏗️ A Rich History as Colorful as Our Exhibits
Housed in a restored sugar beet seed warehouse from the 1930s, the St. George Art Museum has a story as fascinating as the artwork inside. Since opening in 1990, we’ve transformed a once-abandoned space into a regional cultural hub. From early exhibitions featuring art legends (yes, even unverified Van Goghs!) to major showcases like the Zion Centennial and Oklahoma City Memorial Quilts, our legacy is built on resilience, community vision, and an unshakable love for the arts.
🛍️ Support Local – Shop the Gift Shop!
Looking for a one-of-a-kind gift or a piece of St. George to take home? Our Museum Gift Shop features handcrafted works by local artists of all ages and backgrounds. From pottery to prints, jewelry to journals – everything is sold on consignment, meaning your purchase directly supports our amazing creators. The inventory is always changing, so come explore and find your next treasure!
