Step back in time for a special Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day event honoring the USS Utah. Join us for a 1940s USO-inspired Open House, complete with music, food, and entertainment to recreate the era when the USS Utah proudly served. Come as you are or dress in vintage style if you’d like, and enjoy an evening celebrating the resilience and sacrifice of our service members.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
• Historical Displays & Artifacts: See a flag recovered from the USS Utah and learn the story of this remarkable ship and its crew.
• Live Entertainment: Enjoy the sights and sounds of the 1940s with authentic dance performances by St George Swing to capture the spirit of a classic USO event.
• Veterans’ Story Recording: We invite you to share stories of veterans in your life. We’ll be recording these memories on video as part of an effort to preserve and honor the legacy of those who served.
We are honored to welcome retired US Navy Lieutenant Commander Tim Martin as our guest. Mr. Martin will share updates on the soon-to-be-commissioned USS Utah Submarine (SSN-801), which is set to carry Utah’s name into the future.
SCHEDULE:
• 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Open House at Rowdy’s Range – Experience the USO-style atmosphere with music, entertainment, food, exhibits, and the opportunity to record and share veterans’ stories.
• 8:00 am: Begin the day at the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony in Veterans Park, Washington City, where we’ll honor all those who sacrificed on that historic day.
