Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) – Utah is hosting an overnight workshop in their “Beyond BOW” series to introduce women to basic camping and kayaking. Join a fun group of women as we venture to the Colorado River at Lee’s Ferry to learn the basics of kayaking in a positive and empowering environment. We will kayak from Glen Canyon Dam to Lee’s Ferry and spend one night on the river. (This is a flat water stretch with occasional waves caused by passing boats.)

When: June 3-4, 2024

Who: Adult women (18+ years old), No experience necessary

Where: We will meet at the USU Extension office at the Washington County Fairgrounds at 7:30am on Monday, June 3. We will travel about 3 hours to Lee’s Ferry where we will take a backhaul taxi upriver to Glen Canyon Dam. We will kayak 16 miles over two days and will spend the night at a campsite on the Colorado River. We will return to the USU Extension office on Tuesday, June 4, in the evening around 7:00pm (return time may vary)
