Henry’s Place was founded to honor the legacy of 🚔 Sergeant Henry Prendes of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department—a man who dedicated his life to protecting others and dreamed of a brighter future for at-risk youth. His vision was to create a safe, supportive environment where kids facing challenges could experience the joy, growth, and adventure of summer camp—something many might never have the opportunity to enjoy.

That vision lives on through Henry’s Place, a ✝️ Christ-centered organization providing high-quality, no-cost summer camp experiences. Our mission is to offer hope, encouragement, and transformative experiences to youth who need it most. At the core of our work is the life-changing love of 💛 Jesus Christ, who brings hope and healing to young lives.

Our purpose is simple yet profound: to empower inner-city, at-risk youth with the skills and confidence to succeed. Through engaging activities and personalized mentorship, campers build 🌱 self-esteem, learn 🤝 teamwork, and discover their 🧭 moral compass. We help them develop leadership skills, understand the importance of community, and foster respect for themselves and others. Most importantly, we introduce them to ✝️ Jesus Christ, giving them a faith-based foundation to guide their lives long after camp ends.

We recently built a spacious, 🛖 9,000-square-foot lodge featuring:

🍽️ Group Meeting & Dining Areas: A versatile meeting space called Henry’s Hall, equipped with tables, chairs, a video projector and screen, and a 12-channel sound system—perfect for workshops, presentations, and gatherings.
🛏️ Comfortable Guest Rooms: Nine cozy rooms for overnight stays.
🛋️ Welcoming Common Areas: A lobby and lounge designed for connection and relaxation.
👨‍🍳 Fully-Equipped Commercial Kitchen: Ideal for preparing meals for large groups.
🧺 Laundry Facilities & Restrooms: Convenient and accessible for all guests.
🌞 Shaded Outdoor Spaces: Relax and unwind with covered porches in the front and back of the lodge.

In addition to the lodge, we have two heated and cooled cabins—each with 🛌 bunk beds for 10, private 🚿 indoor showers, vanities, and toilets. Both cabins also have 🌄 covered porches, perfect for enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
